But Hollywood's old-boy network never fully accepted Hughes, and in time his passion for flying began to reclaim his attentions as he began designing new planes, setting air speed records, flying around the world, and risking his life testing aircraft. Hughes also found time to romance Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale) and founded his own airline, Trans-World Airlines, though as his ideas became bolder, his approach became more eccentric, and he gained many powerful enemies, including the head of Pan-American Airlines, Juan Trippe (Alec Baldwin), and Senator Ralph Owen Brewster (Alan Alda), who attempted to prove that Hughes' radical design ideas were actually part of an effort to bilk taxpayers for millions of dollars through government contracts. The Aviator's star-studded cast also includes John C. Reilly, Jude Law, Willem Dafoe, Ian Holm, and Frances Conroy.

পূর্ববর্তী নবীগণ এবং তাদের জনপদের লোকদের ঘটনায় অনেক উপদেশ ও শিক্ষা রয়েছে। প্রত্যেক মুসলমানের উচিত এ সমস্ত ঘটনা গভীরভাবে চিন্তা করা এবং দৈনন্দিন জীবনে এ থেকে উপকৃত হওয়া। আল্লাহ তাআলা আমাদের কাছে পূর্ববর্তী নবী-রাসূলদের ও অন্যান্য লোকের অনেক ঘটনা বর্ণনা করেছেন। উদ্দেশ্যে একটাই যাতে পরবর্তীগণ পূর্ববর্তীদের থেকে উপকৃত হয়। উপদেশ গ্রহণ করে ও শিক্ষা অর্জন করে। আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন : 'তাদের কাহিনীতে বুদ্ধিমানদের জন্য রয়েছে শিক্ষণীয় বিষয়, এটা কোন মনগড়া কথা নয়, কিন্তু যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে তাদের জন্যে পূর্বেকার কালামের সমর্থন।' [সূরা ইউসুফ : ১১১]
ঘটনা মূলক বর্ণনা পদ্ধতি মূল বিষয় বস্তু আত্মস্থ করতে শ্রোতা ও পাঠকগণকে খুব দ্রুত আকৃষ্ট করে। মানুষের বিচার-বুদ্ধি, প্রকৃতি ও স্বভাবের উপর এর সফল প্রভাব পরে। ফলে সহজেই ঘটনা হতে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করা যায় এবং তার উপর আমল করা যায়। এ জন্য রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম অনেক সময় সাহাবায়ে কেরামদের জন্য ঘটনা মূলক উদাহরণ পেশ করতেন।
বইটিতে কুরআনের বিভিন্ন স্থানে বর্ণিত ঘটনা ও বক্তব্য সমূহ একত্রিত করে কাহিনীরূপ প্রদান করা হয়েছে। সেই সাথে বিশ্বস্ত তাফসীর,হাদীস ও ইতিহাস গ্রন্থ’ সমূহ থেকেও উদ্ধৃত করা হয়েছে। নবীদের কাহিনীর নামে প্রচলিত কেচ্ছা-কাহিনী ও ইসরাইলী উপকথা সমূহ হ’তে বিরত থেকে সহীহ বর্ণণাসমূহ দ্বারা বইটি সমৃদ্ধ হয়েছে।

কুরআনে ২৫ জন নবীর নাম বর্ণণা করা হয়েছে: আদম,নূহ,ইদরীস,হূদ,ছালেহ,ইবরাহীম,লূত,ইসমাঈল,ইসহাক,ইয়াকূব,ইউসুফ,আইয়ূব,শু‘আয়েব,মূসা,হারূণ,ইউনুস,দাঊদ,সুলায়মান,ইলিয়াস,আল-ইয়াসা‘,যুল-কিফ্ল,যাকারিয়া,ইয়াহ্ইয়া, ঈসা (আ) ও মুহাম্মাদ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম।
“আল্লাহ যার কল্যাণ চান, তাকে দ্বীনের জ্ঞান দান করেন”। (বুখারী)
মানব জাতির শেষ্ঠ মানুষ নবীদের জীবনী পাঠ করি, আল্লাহ আমাদের এই সকল কাহিনী ও ঘটনা থেকে উপকৃত হওয়ার তাওফিক দান করুন, আমিন।

বর্তমান বিশ্বে মুসলিম সমাজ আজ যে কষ্ট ও মুসীবাতে জর্জরিত তার প্রধান কারণ হলো, তাদের মাঝে প্রকাশ্য শিরক ব্যাপকভাবে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। মুসলিমরা যে আজ ফিতনাহ, ফাসাদ, যুদ্ধ-বিগ্রহ, ভূমিকম্প, ঘূর্ণিঝড়, জ্বলোচ্ছাসের মত প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগের সম্মুখীন হচ্ছে , তা আল্লাহ্ তায়ালাই মুসলিমদের উপর গযব হিসেবে নাযিল করছেন। তার কারণ হচ্ছে, তারা তাওহীদ বিমুখ হয়ে জঘন্য শিরকি কর্মকাণ্ডে ডুবে রয়েছে। অধিকাংশ মুসলিম দেশের সর্বত্র যে শিরকি কর্মকাণ্ড চলছে পীরপূজা, ফাকীর পূজা, ক্ববর পূজা ও সৃষ্টিপূজা হচ্ছে তার প্রধানতম। এগুলো সম্পর্কে সর্বসাধারণের ব্যাপক ও সঠিক ধারণা না থাকার কারণে এসব কর্মকাণ্ড দিন দিন বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। পীরবাদ মোটেই ইসলাম সম্মত নয়। ইসলামের আলোকজ্জ্বল পরিবেশে এর জন্ম হয়নি। তার উন্মেষই হয়েছে ইসলামের পতনের যুগে। পীরবাদীদের কেউ কেউ ‘ইলমে তাসাউফের’ মাধ্যমে জনগণকে দ্বীন-ইসলামের দিকে নিয়ে আসতে চেষ্টা করেছেন; কিন্তু পীরবাদে যে মূ ল দোষ-ত্রুটি ছিল, তার বীজ রয়েই গেছে এবং তা সৃষ্টি করে রেখেছে একটি বিষবৃক্ষ। বর্তমানে তা-ই এক বিরাট বৃক্ষে পরিণত হয়ে জনগণকে চরমভাবে বিভ্রান্ত করছে, বিষাক্ত করছে জনগণের ‘আক্বীদাহ ও আমলকে।
ব্যক্তি ও সৃষ্টি পূজাকে উৎখাত করে আল্লাহ্র একত্ববাদ প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্যই ইসলামের আবির্ভাব হয়েছিল। কিন্তু ইসলামের অনুসারী মুসলিমরা আজ সেসব পরিত্যাজ্য বিষয়গুলোকে সাওয়াবের কাজ মনে করে আমল করে যাচ্ছে, এর চেয়ে আর দুর্ভাগ্যের কী আছে? তাই ঈমান বিধ্বংসী ও সমাজ বিপর্যয়ের কারণ এসব শিরকী কর্মকাণ্ডের বিরুদ্ধে গণসচেতনতা সৃষ্টি ও হানাহানী পরিহার করে শান্তিপূর্ণ পন্থায় সমাজ থেকে উচ্ছেদের লক্ষ্যে জোর প্রচেষ্টা চালানোর গুরুত্ব ও প্রইয়োজনীয়তা তীব্রভাবে অনুভব করে ‘পীর ফাকীর ও ক্ববর পূজা কেন হারাম’ নামক পুস্তক প্রকাশের প্রয়াস পেয়েছি।

gangland massacre in a parking garage. Fearing that they will be next on
the mobsters' hit lists, Joe devises an ingenious plan for disguising
their identities. Soon they are all dolled up and performing as
Josephine and Daphne in Sweet Sue's all-girl orchestra. En route to
Florida by train with Sweet Sue's band, the boys (girls?) make the
acquaintance of Sue's lead singer Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe, in what
may be her best performance). Joe and Jerry immediately fall in love,
though of course their new feminine identities prevent them from acting
on their desires. Still, they are determined to woo her, and they enact
an elaborate series of gender-bending ruses complicated by the fact that
flirtatious millionaire Osgood Fielding (Joe E. Brown) has fallen in
love with "Daphne." The plot gets even thicker when Spats Columbo and
his boys show up in Florida. Nominated for several Oscars, Some Like It
Hot ended up the biggest moneymaking comedy up to 1959. Full of
hilarious set pieces and movie in-jokes, it has not tarnished with time
and in fact seems to get better with each passing year, as its
cross-dressing humor keeps it only more and more up-to-date.

of a Viennese "urban legend" concerning the death of 18th century
musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. From the vantage point of an
insane asylum, aging royal composer Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) recalls
the
events of three decades
earlier, when the young Mozart (Tom Hulce) first gained favor in the
court of Austrian emperor Joseph II (Jeffrey Jones). Salieri was
incensed that God would bless so vulgar and obnoxious a young snipe as
Mozart with divine genius. Why was Salieri -- so disciplined, so devoted
to his art, and so willing to toady to his superiors -- not touched by
God? Unable to match Mozart's talent, Salieri uses his influence in
court to sabotage the young upstart's career. Disguising himself as a
mysterious benefactor, Salieri commissions the backbreaking Requiem,
which eventually costs Mozart his health, wealth, and life. Among the
film's many pearls of dialogue, the best line goes to the emperor, who
rejects a Mozart composition on the grounds that it has "too many
notes." Amadeus won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best
Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor for F. Murray Abraham.
In 2002, the film received a theatrical re-release as "Amadeus: The
Director's Cut," a version that includes 20 minutes of additional
footage.

Synopsis: The Bridge on the River Kwai opens in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp in
Burma in 1943, where a battle of wills rages between camp commander
Colonel Saito (Sessue Hayakawa) and newly arrived British colonel
Nicholson (Alec Guinness). Saito insists that Nicholson order his men to
build a bridge over the river Kwai, which will be used to transport
Japanese munitions. Nicholson refuses, despite all the various
"persuasive" devices at Saito's disposal. Finally, Nicholson agrees, not
so much to
cooperate with his captor
as to provide a morale-boosting project for the military engineers
under his command. The colonel will prove that, by building a better
bridge than Saito's men could build, the British soldier is a superior
being even when under the thumb of the enemy. As the bridge goes up,
Nicholson becomes obsessed with completing it to perfection, eventually
losing sight of the fact that it will benefit the Japanese. Meanwhile,
American POW Shears (William Holden), having escaped from the camp,
agrees to save himself from a court martial by leading a group of
British soldiers back to the camp to destroy Nicholson's bridge. Upon
his return, Shears realizes that Nicholson's mania to complete his
project has driven him mad. Filmed in Ceylon, Bridge on the River Kwai
won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for the
legendary British filmmaker David Lean, and Best Actor for Guinness. It
also won Best Screenplay for Pierre Boulle, the author of the novel on
which the film was based, even though the actual writers were
blacklisted writers Carl Foreman and Michael Wilson, who were given
their Oscars under the table.
